Carefully a girl walked into the dorm that she would be sharing with a certain Elouan. Right now it didn't matter, she was having a tune pumped into her body from her iPod. A shiver ran over her body, as she began dragging her bags into the room. It was to be assumed that she would take the bed closest to the door, but that the girl did not do. She was more concerned with the bed and dresser over in the corner, the ones that we set off near the large mouth of a window. The daylight had been spilling through this window and splatting droplets of color for hours now; yet, it was just at this moment that someone would pull the drapes on the sun. Shunning its overwhelming love for everything, the way it could cast light on even the darkest places if it felt the urge to.
The female was sixteen years old, a July birthday which caused her to be a bit younger when she would graduate. Her blonde hair pooled over her shoulders except for the top section which was fluffed up and have a black and gray checkered bow pinned to the side of her head. A pink tank-top was being worn, with another black one under it; although both of them were hidden by the overwhelmingly large black hoodie that she wore. The words "Say Anything" were written across the front of it, most saw them in the reddish hue. This girl saw them without any trace of color. It was a gift and a curse to have eyes like hers. Many adored her vibrant blue eyes, and she would often receive compliments on them. The color had never enthused her, why would it? The hue of her eyes could only plague her since she would never be graced with seeing it. The girl lined her eyes with thick black eyeliner and more mascara than anyone would expect her to wear. Upon her lower body she wore a tight pair of gray jeans and a black belt with pink studs. It was impossible to tell how she managed to coordinate herself so well, natural talent of being lucky? Or perhaps the girl didn't care. Either way, she was known as Miss Adelaide Lyn Harker. It was a strange name for a strange girl, at least in the United States of America.
Her voice rang out quietly, but perfectly hitting all the notes. It was a male part but she sung an octave higher, and naturally was able to hit everything with perfection. It was an old song, many didn't like the band known as blink-182. Adelaide did, and when they broke up it broke her heart. This song was off their self-titled album, she didn't know why she enjoyed it. Possibly because it hadn't been an overplayed radio song like several others.
'Hello there, the angel from my nightmare,
The shadow in the background of the morgue,
The unsuspecting victim of darkness in the valley,
We can live like Jack and Sally if we want,
Where you can always find me,
We'll have Halloween on Christmas,
And in the night we'll wish this never ends,
We'll wish this never ends,
Where are you and I'm so sorry,
I cannot sleep I cannot dream tonight,
I need somebody and always,
This sick strange darkness,
Comes creeping on so haunting every time,
And as I stared I counted,
Webs from all the spiders,
Catching things and eating their insides,
Like indecision to call you,
and hear your voice of treason,
Will you come home and stop this pain tonight,
Stop this pain tonight,
Don't waste your time on me you're already,
The voice inside my head,
Don't waste your time on me you're already,
The voice inside my head...'
The girl didn't bother to finish the song, she was feeling even more downcast than normal. It was her third year here, and she still had very few friends. Very few people ever seemed to burden themselves with this British child; thus, she didn't bother herself with many of them.
Carefully she moved to unpacking her suitcases in her dorm and setting things up to perfection. The girl was both OCD and Bi-polar as well, many just assumed she was OCD but none knew her well enough to see that she was bi-polar. Everything was set perfectly atop the dresser and within it, very few items did she slide under her bed. The ones that were slid under the bed were not even looked at, the girl knew what she was putting under the bed. A slight smirk appeared across her face as she got to the small fridge she brought to use. Her pale fingers seemed to caress the plug for a moment before she set the fridge on the other side of the nightstand. A moment later it was plugged in and another bag was put into it. If anyone asked anything they probably wouldn't be very happy about the answer, yet she wasn't exactly happy about herself right now.
Little did she realize that she was already on the song All of This. A careful laugh escaped her lips and she let herself slide down into a sitting position with her back propped up against the fridge and held her head in her hands. The girl wanted to go to a concert horribly, it would be amazing to hardcore dance. Adelaide had learned that she would not be able to do stuff like that around school. The girl remembered something suddenly, she had left her guitar in its case in the halls along with two other small bags. "Fuck," she muttered to herself as she stood up and trotted over to the door, which she had left open.
To her surprise everything was still there, that was great. She would have died if the guitar and those two bags and been stolen. She pushed one bag under the bed and took out the stand from the other bag, and then it too found itself under the bed.
Finally she set everything up in the other corner on her side of the room, her little guitar corner. A pleased grin crossed over her face, she looked the prettiest when she grinned. Many were never graced with even the smallest grin from young Adelaide Lyn Harker.
