I'm currently watching Casino Royale, hanging with my dogs. Actually, I'm in the process of thinking what I'm going to do after I finish typing this up, which shouldn't take too long, considering I haven't done anything for today.

How do you comfort someone, when you haven't been in their shoes? You can't relate to the trouble their in, or the pain they're going through. Sometimes I wonder just how we get through our life alive. You know, some things are just too complicated. I think I've had my share of complication lately.
When this trouble takes full form, how will it effect us? If it wanders from that one person, who will it effect? How many people will be effected? I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm glad I know what I know... But, would life be just so much easier for both if it was just left unsaid? Life would just be less complicated if people would only confide in the people they truly trust, there would be less rumors, and less... Drama.

So, a couple days ago I was asked to play an important role in someone's life. I wasn't sure at first, you know, what the job would entail, but I decided whatever it was, it would surely be worth it.
The person who asked me was in fact Joie, wanting me to be the god-father of the baby. I lied in the first paragraph of this entry, by the way. I didn't have to think, you know? It was a no brainer. So, I guess that makes me a god-father... Should I feel old?
Sure, babies have been born before, ones that I've been attatched to, but this feels like an even bigger bond. And I have to admit, it had to of taken a lot of courage for Joie, or any person to admit that they were pregnant... Especially to me, not that I'm scary or anything, but I don't exactly have the best history when it comes to that kind of thing. I definitely wouldn't be the person admitting they needed comfort, and I give Joie a lot of credit for that. She's a strong person, I just don't think she knows that yet.
So, to all the people out there that are afraid to just let someone in... Try it, what do you have to lose? You might gain a friend, a lover, or just strengthen your relationship with that person. My advice, don't listen to that little voice in your head that's telling you it's easier to just block everyone out, because it's not.
