Ruth MacDonald
Behind The Mask Your Name/Alias: The Grand Duchess of York Years Roleplaying: Weak attempts over the past 4 years, this is the first serious one. Joining Password: I’ve Chosen Darkness How did you find us?: Through a friend. Sample Post: It was one of those picturesque moments, the ones fledgling directors try to capture in the movies. They sat before the sunset on the edge of a dusty Texas cliff, tumbleweeds and rock shrubs gathered about to witness true love. Their shadow grew longer and thinner as the sun continued to set, and slowly, both of their shadows became indistinguishable from the other. Ruth laid back against him, petting his smooth body. “I don’t know what I’ll do without you…” She whispered softly through tears. Suddenly, it was as though their shadow had taken up the whole of the earth in its darkness. The sun had finally disappeared behind the other side of the gorge before them. She hopped up on top of him, slid into the seat, shifted into reverse and gunned the engine. It took a second for the wheels to catch ground beneath the dust, but soon enough all that was left on that dusty Texas cliff were tears and a cloud of dust.
Back To The BASICS Full Name: Ruth MacDonald Nicknames: Mac to her friends, Ruthie to her parents Age: 17 D.O.B: 1/15/1990 Gender: Female Grade: 12th Original Appearance: 11th
It's All About YOU Celebrity Portrayal: Jena Malone Physical Appearance: Ruth is not the one to focus on physical appearance. Often sporting windswept hair and a makeup-free face, she cares not about the jabs peers make about her lack of activity on behalf of her body. Being used to the dry climate of Texas, the switch to North Carolina has caused her to break out significantly more than usual. Even after her first year at Roanoke, she still hasn’t figured out how to contain it. She has her mother’s grey-blue eyes and her small, round, tipped up nose. The lips are her fathers, big and full in the middle, but thin at the ends. She has long, straight, brown hair; however, it is usually fairly unkempt due to her favorite past-time of speeding on the highway with all of the windows down. Her eyebrows are magnificent; they are one of her favorite features. They start out thick by her nose, but then thin out quickly, after which they peak and swoop down lightly. She brags about how they grow naturally that way whenever someone complements them. They are on of the few traits which she actually pays any attention to. She is about 5’5”, and not the most voluptuous of girls. Not well endowed in any sense of the word, one couldn’t describe her as a “board”, but close to it. Her legs are long, but her thighs are big. She has meat, but is by no means big. Her body is her own, and she is not self conscious about it. Clothing Style: Big, reflective 80’s sunglasses are the fist thing that will strike you when you look at her style. They are always with her, on top of her head, on her eyes, or hanging from her collar. She wears boy jeans and pajama pants, because they’re the most comfortable. On rare occasions you can catch her wearing athletic shorts or a knee-length skirt, to which she will promptly tell you that it was hot in the morning, or that she had nothing else to wear. Her tops are mostly plain t-shirts and long sleeve tees, never tight fitting and always brand-less. She hates how people pay 30 dollars more for the same clothing with a little tiny logo on it. She has a few shirts with images on them, but they’re usually just internet jokes that nobody else gets. Personality: Ruth is a bizarre mix of a thrill seeker and a reclusive loner. She loves going fast, especially in a car, but seeks extremes in other places as well. She enjoys going out to meet new people (contrary to her loner tendencies) to pretend like she is an old friend that they don’t remember or a person completely different from herself. She is still struggling to figure out if she enjoys it because she likes figuring things out in the heat of the moments, or because she doesn’t like herself as a person. She also enjoys the idea of random hookups, but so far she has not had the chance to see whether that’s true or not. On the other side of the coin, she is a strict loner. She never takes people home with her, rarely calls someone back that she talked to once, and is incredibly picky about who she wants to be friends with. She has no problem telling somebody off if they have changed into someone who she does not like. Besides classes or going thrill seeking, she does not leave the dorm. She spends time on the internet on various gaming and car forums, lurking, but not posting. She is completely socially competent, but chooses to avoid it if she has the choice. Religion is a big aspect in Ruth’s life, though not in the way that most would expect. She is Jewish, and very well learned; however, she does not follow the laws by the book. She interprets them to affect her own life rather than that of biblical Jews. She is very proud of her religion and is often very self-centered when it comes to discussing other religions. She relates most things to Judaism, and gets a high off of explaining Jewish theory to other people, whether they are listening or not. In rejection of her father’s oil boom in Texas, Ruth is fairly liberal, favoring the earth over man. This is the only conflict she has with her love of cars; it’s the fuel efficiency issue. It’s not a huge personality trait of hers, but she will definitely get at someone for disregarding the planet. Ruth Hates her name. She thinks it’s esoteric and doesn’t have anything to do with herself. She asks her friends to call her Mac, and snaps at anyone who calls her Ruth besides her parents. She is by no means depressed. Likes: - Cars - Adrenaline - Acting - Fantasy novels - Being alone in nature - Soft-spoken people Dislikes: - Forced social situations - Cars with slow acceleration - People with no concept of personal space - People who don’t stop talking Overall Flaws: - Not trusting - Blunt - Big thighs, but a small butt - Scar tissue on her left palm from grabbing a curling iron as a toddler Pets: - A cat named Cloe Financial Status: He father is an oil tycoon; however, she rejected his money and attempted to be self sufficient for her own wants. She still lived in the society of money, though. Clique: Loner, normals
It's All BEHIND You P.O.B: Middle o’ Nowhere, Texas History: Raised by a Jewish oil tycoon in the middle of Texas, Ruth MacDonald (Her father’s original surname was Mackerberg, but he changed it for business reasons) got everything as a child. Her mother spent all of her time with her, while her father played the distant role of making the money. Once she came to school age, she was sent off to the single private Jewish school in the city. She lived with an old, distant relative and received subsidies from her father. She went all through elementary school and middle school with the same 50 kids, none of which she found interest in, or got along with. She spent most of her time wandering about the city, looking for the definition of fun. She spent 6th and 7th grade bowling compulsively, rolling 2 or 3 times a day. She won a few amateur competitions, but became disillusioned with the redundancy of the sport. It was one day in 8th grade that had a profound impact on her. Her family took one of those trips where the parents think it’s all about “family time”, and the kids is miserable the whole time. On the way home, they stopped at a Go-Kart track, and that where Ruth first experienced the rush of speed. From there on, she asked her parents for a 4x4 to ride around their giant property in the summer. She eventually got a car, and drove it around their property without the prying eyes of the police to stop her for not having a license. She soon grew to love her car more than her family and what little of friends one may have considered her of having. The first year of high school, 10th grade, was spent at a normal, public high school. Ruth failed miserably, and so her parents decided to send her to Roanoke, where she would have a similar atmosphere to that of her private Jewish schools. She was devastated not to be able to take her car with her, and began school with a heavy heart. She now saves her money to rent cars in the city and drive them on the highways. Family: Tex (changed from Tevy) MacDonald – Father Lori MacDonald – Mother Greta Shimper – Caretaker during the Jewish School
