Back To The BASICS Full Name: Allison Bry Shaddix Nicknames: none Age: 14 D.O.B: 14 April 1993 Gender: female Grade: Freshman Original Appearance: at RPA, 7th grade, but grew up in Roanoke
It's All About YOU Celebrity Portrayal: Dakota Rose Physical Appearance: Allison is a tall, baby-faced, bleach-blonde girl with standout looks. She has incredibly fair skin from years spent inside reading rather than running around outside. She is so pale that the times that she is dragged out to the beach she has to apply sunscreen with spf 75, the kind they make for babies. Her hair is naturally a wavy dirty blonde, but she bleaches the life out of it, so it falls limply on her shoulders or in dread-like chunks down her back. From time to time she colors the ends with Sharpie markers. She stands at a willowy 5’8, taller than most girls, but still shorter than her sister by two inches, which her sister has lorded over her since they finished growing. Allison is ever hopeful for a final growth spurt. She is very thin. It’s partly genes and partly her birdlike eating habits. She rarely snacks and eats very little at meals. She does eat, however, and has a healthy amount of baby fat still lingering on her face. Her eyes stand out and sink in to that face at the same time, by means of the layers of liner and mascara that are never washed off. They are large and have a sad look to them, reminiscent of those old Precious Memories dolls. Her nose has a slight upturn, which would look piggy if she weren’t so thin. If her eyes weren’t enough to convince others that she was not a very giddy girl, her mouth would do it. Her lips turn down at the corners, an effect which is enhanced by Allison’s self-pierced snakebites that she has had since she the very young age of twelve and a half. Her stepmother is constantly after her to remove the things, and Allison is constantly re-piercing them with either hoops or studs. Clothing Style: Allison’s fashion sense in one word: Unique. In two words: Kinda Weird. She is a fiend for couture fashion. She aspires to one day be an editor-in-chief for a top fashion magazine, and spends hours trolling through French Glamours and British Vogues. Her helter-skelter way of dressing isn’t couture yet by far, in fact most of her peers think it’s downright weird, but it’s getting there. She enjoys dressing in vibrant colors and matching her eyeshadow to her pants. She is one of very few people on the planet who wear false eyelashes every day. Allison hangs on to her youth with her accessories; often putting grosgrain ribbons in her hair and carrying small vinyl backpacks. She is mad for Hello Kitty, ecstatic that HK has become something of a couture icon, and owns several high-end HK bags and pendants, found online and purchased with month’s worth of allowance. Personality: Where her sister, McKenna, is brash, confrontational, and neurotic, Allison is quiet, reserved, and painfully shy. When her parents would fight, Allison would hide in her closet, sometimes not coming out for hours even after the shouting had stopped. She is almost absurdly wary of other people, and there are no people yet who have cracked her code. Most of her peers dismissed Allison as ‘the quiet girl,’ and after a while, she found herself with no friends. Allison has grown comfortable with the silence and shyness that surrounds her, but it still manages to turn negative for her- she never raises her hand, even in her favorite classes, which baffles teachers because of her A+ papers; when she wanted to move into a RPA dorm, no one wanted to be her roommate because no one knew who she was; she has never had a boyfriend, never even been kissed! She’s really going to need to work on it for the high powered career that she aspires to. What saves her from being a complete nonentity is that she is particularly bright. She reads much higher than her grade level- it was she who suggested the family name their puppy Kafka, after one of her favorites- and enjoys studying. She is very rarely seen without a large book. Most people use reading at mealtimes as a ploy to keep others away, but Allison does it because she would rather read than be forced to hold a conversation. When prodded, Allison holds highly intelligent conversations, but at a high school this doesn’t do too much for her popularity. She very much wants to open up, but most of the people at RPA are too overwhelming for her. Even the other kids labeled ‘scholars’ don’t bother speaking to her because they assume she doesn’t want to speak to them. There are a few people that Allison feels she has come to know through observing them in the cafeteria or on the school grounds, and that she would like to be friends with., if only she knew how a teenager went about making friends… Likes: reading, couture fashion, solitude, poetry Dislikes: parties, confrontation, Overall Flaws: physical: scarring around her mouth from piercing the snakebites, hair that looks unclean, eyeliner and mascara always smeared and smudged around her face. Emotional: her shyness Pets: german shepherd, Kafka Financial Status: middle class Clique: Loners, Scholars
It's All BEHIND You P.O.B: Roanoke, VA History: Allison didn’t have an ideal childhood. Far from it. Her parents had already been fighting since before she was born, so she didn’t realize that parents weren’t supposed to fight until she was old enough to be completely messed up by it. Rather than bonding together against their parents’ animosity, the Shaddix children fought amongst themselves. As the youngest, Allison received the bulk of the teasing and nudging; her older siblings would bully her because she was an easy target. McKenna, her sister, would pick on Allison until Allison would lock herself in the bathroom to cry. Her brother Zach was troublesome in his absence, always at a friend’s home, and when he was home, he would mope around until he was allowed to leave again. The children would have preferred to never see each other, but their father’s strictly enforced and totally awkward family dinners forced them together at 6:30 sharp every night. When Allison was 10 years old, her mother announced that she was leaving the family, and her father attempted to explain away the problem by making a shocking announcement of his own- that he had been having an affair. He married the ‘other woman’ shortly after his divorce from Allison’s mother was finalized. The installation of a brand new mother figure was a bit too much for the children. Allison’s way of expressing herself was through tying herself to her schoolwork. Some might say that she did it to earn praise from her family, but she really did it because she liked that math, history, science, and English grammar had nothing to do with her family. Allison was both overjoyed and disappointed when it was settled that she would attend RPA. She was very glad to get out of her house and into the dorms [although this posed a problem for her- see Personality], but as her sister and brother had gone to that school, there was a certain reputation that came with being a Shaddix kid, and Allison was sure she would not live up to her name. Family: Madeline Recchi - Biological Mother Demetri Shaddix - Father Susan Shaddix - Step-Mother Zach Shaddix - Brother McKenna Shaddix - Sister Other: Allison hopes to be forced our of her shell in her first highschool year at RPA
