"Hey There Delilah" by Plain White T's
Hey there Delilah What's it like in New York City? I'm a thousand miles away But girl tonight you look so pretty Yes you do Times Square can't shine as bright as you I swear it's true
It was back to sqaure one. You know Alex was back, and by back he meant, he was ready to live life once again. Of course all he had in life at the moment was a guitar, maybe a few friends, and a scholarship. The scholarship he was most proud of and it was ticket to freedom. Alex knew he couldnt get anywhere without it, and if he didnt have it then he figured he would be stuck in this town for the rest of his life.
It was silly for a young man as himself to stress about life, the way he did. He was drunk which wasnt highly unnormal. He had been doing this since he was 14, and Alex did it quite of few times. He didnt care what people thought of him, especcially when he walked up and down the beach like this at night. He was a smart fellow, brave if someone would let him show it, and misunderstood, like everyother teenager in America. But there was always something so mysterious about him. He was shy, but funny when one knew him, and he enjoyed makeing friends along the way. Even if they never knew him. It didnt matter.
So here he was on a friday night, wasted as usual, and sulky in self pitty. Once again he was down. As soon as someone came along a smile would spread across his geeky face, no matter what he would never let anyone know. He stumbled forehead singing a song, it was weird he could remember it know. It was Plain White T's "Hey there Delilah".
He was tall fairly skinny, and a weird geeky appearence. Wearing his usual band tee shirts, that he sometimes got from working, he continued on, singing..somewhat loudly. It was all in tune, the way he normally sang, but this time it was just a little more wackier.
Hey there Delilah Don't you worry about the distance I'm right there if you get lonely Give this song another listen Close your eyes Listen to my voice it's my disguise I'm by your side
Oh it's what you do to me Oh it's what you do to me Oh it's what you do to me Oh it's what you do to me What you do to me
Hey there Delilah I know times are getting hard But just believe me girl Someday I'll pay the bills with this guitar We'll have it good We'll have the life we knew we would My word is good
Hey there Delilah I've got so much left to say If every simple song I wrote to you Would take your breath away I'd write it all Even more in love with me you'd fall We'd have it all
Oh it's what you do to me Oh it's what you do to me Oh it's what you do to me Oh it's what you do to me
A thousand miles seems pretty far But they've got planes and trains and cars I'd walk to you if I had no other way Our friends would all make fun of us and we'll just laugh along because we know That none of them have felt this way Delilah I can promise you That by the time we get through The world will never ever be the same And you're to blame
Hey there Delilah You be good and don't you miss me Two more years and you'll be done with school And I'll be making history like I do You know it's all because of you We can do whatever we want to Hey there Delilah here's to you This ones for you
Oh it's what you do to me Oh it's what you do to me Oh it's what you do to me Oh it's what you do to me What you do to me.

Gamma had left the party she was at to meet her father for dinner. She had met up with him stoned, but the pot wasn't any good and she was nearly sober after the long meal had finished. The meal ended in a fight, the fight ended with Gamma leaving the house to drive.
She reached the beach clear-headed. She sat on top of her car, in her hand she held a small astronomers booklet. The summer sky proved to be an easy feat to conquer with such a book. She heard the awkward singing resonating off of the water, being swallowed by the sand around her. Underneath a street lamp, Alex was singing a song she had heard him sing before.
She got up. She wore gray green bermudas, birkenstocks and a gray baby doll tee. She trudged through the sand to meet her drunken friend. "Alex," she called. He was noticeably miserable. "What are you doing out here kiddo." It was her endearing term for him.

"Gemma... good pal" as he interupted his singing to greet his indeering friend. He was definently out of it, and it always felt so good, well until mourning would hit. Anyways he walked beside her and put his hand of her should and smiled, his playful smile. "So..my friend how is life treating you, on this fine evening." he smiled, he of course didnt know what was going on. It was the usual night, as I stated before, he was sulking in self pitty before she came along, and bam he became a wildly smiley person.
His eyes didnt take much in glistening from the alcohol. He usually got a bit silly, and who could blame him, but of course one would think by now he could contain himself, from making a scene, but Alex couldnt. The drinks contaned poison for his family, and every drop drownded his family for that short part of time. It made him forget. And forget is such and awfully nice word.
Still placing his arm around her. He didnt care what anyone thought of him while he was drunk, infact he liked it better if people saw him this way. Alex wasnt a mean drunk, just a bi polar drunk. At fisrt sight from a distance, he would be seen as moody, but as soon as friend came along he was full of energy and playfullness. It was as if he could be anyone but himself.

Gamma chuckled at his antics. He had changed moods suddenly, and she was afraid to bring up what could've made him so unhappy. She blamed it mostly on the alcohol and answered his question, "I'm just okay, how about you?" she said, smiling from underneath his arm.
The stifling smell of vodka was on his breath. "Have any more?" she was in the mood to get wasted. After the tiff with her father it was what she needed. She remembered mythology, Dionysus, the god of the altered state of mind thus drinking and parties. She made a little note to thank him if she was able to alter her head enough to lose the grudge against her father.

[dont feel like changin to my other account. Hope ya dont mind. =]]
"Oh Im brillant, My friend." he was quite finished. "Now that your here." he said playfully. He was now looking up at the dark sky. His mind trying to think clearly but it wasnt doing any good. If only he remebered why everyone had left. It was a random thought but a truthful one at that. His mind playing tricks on them. Thank goodness she interupted his thinking.
Alex smiled, his ridiculous boy smile, and found that Gamma wanted some boos too. He made a face, thinking back to were he stored it. He had his little hiding space. It was thinking face, one that made him look a little goofy and when he turned to face, he spoke. "I think it is by my shoes, but I dont know were I put my shoes." Alex stammered on a few words.

(that's okay)
Gamma laughed at the faces that Alexander was making. She shook her head, asking 'Wha?' Not really expecting to get an answer. He was a humorous drunk at least when she was with him. She waited for him to finish his thought.
'I think it's by my shoes'
She looked down towards his feet. It wasn't something she had noticed before. "Well, we need to find your shoes then." she shook her head again, in disbelief. "Where'd you come from? What direction?" She wasn't sure if he would know, but it was a relief to hang out with someone.
