"...Enjoy your day at Saxon County Mall, thank you!" sounded the voice of an unknown female as she ended an announcement on an upcoming mall-wide sale. Fai didn't really have a clue what she came here for. All she knew was that shopping gave her comfort and comfort was something she needed badly. A nod from the security guard after checking her ivory prada bag and she was inside ENVY.
Gowns and tuxedos surrounded her. This was definitely not the place she had to be. A formal outfit would just go to waste seeing as she had no plans of going to any lavish event anytime soon. The second floor it is then. Fai made her way to the escalator and slowly, she approached her destination. The "normal" clothes.
Faiqa made her way through the racks of black blouses. They were quite different from the bright ensemble she had right now. A yellow tunic, skinny jeans and white flats. Not as dark as the ebony shirts, that's for sure. Fai couldn't fool herself. It wasn't just shopping she needed. She needed a friend.. Or atleast some sort of company.

Allison reorganized the racks of shirts on the second floor of Envy. Some shoppers would take out an item of clothing, carry it around for a bit, then put it back in the wrong spot. It was pretty irritating, to be honest. Allison carried an armful of misplanced blouses, tunics, tees, and tanks around the department, hanging them in their rightful spots. She paused in the area where most of the casual shirts were hung. She held up a long black cotton t-shirt to herself and made a mental note to pick it up for herself later, as it covered her midriff and would therefore save her some stress next time she came in. The manager was always on her about her shirts being too short. She looked up and saw a customer, so she put on her employee-training learned smile and said, somewhat flatly "Can I help you find something today?"

A quite perky voice startled Faiqa as she picked out a black, strapless top. She turned to find a sales lady whose name tag read "Allison". "Oh,uhm.. I'm just having some retail therapy," she answered as if everyone did it. A smile formeed on her face as she shrugged.
Faiqa hooked the top's hanger back onto the rack. She didn't quite like it. She needed something that looked good for tonight... Her night out with Rylan. Maybe the sales girl...erm, Allison, could help her. Yeah. It was worth a shot. She turned back to the girl and said, "Actually, could you help me find something for a special date tonight?" Emphasis on date, incase you didn't notice.
[ooc: irk. not my best. sorry]

The shopper turned out to be Faiqa Di-something. Allison knew of her. She was basically the most popular prep girl at RPA. Her life seemed charmed: she was so pretty, she wore the best clothes, she was likely to win the student counsel elections, and she had an entourage of equally beautiful girls and hot guys that she hung out with. Not that Allison was jealous...She just felt shabby and loserish next to the brunette. After Faiqa's initial brush-off, Allison went back to business. She was called back to attention when the older girl spoke again:
"Actually, could you help me find something for a special date tonight?" Allison immediately abandoned her armful of misplaced tops under a display table. "Yeah, I could help with that. What kind of date is it?"

A sly smile formed dimples onto her features. The girl probably knew her...Well, it's not like anyone would just drop what they were supposedd to fix to help some girl pick out an outfit. "Oh, well, it's not a first date...Thats for sure," Fai replied, thinking "Hmm, iuno really. I just need something gorgeous...for partying."
Okay, so partying out on the streets and clubs wasn't really a date but it was a night with Rylan. Close enough! Fai turned back to the rack as she spoke, "Black isn't really for festivity, is it?" Obvious but she wanted a conversation going.
Allison could turn out to be the friend she was looking for.

"Oh, well, it's not a first date...Thats for sure. Hmm, iuno really. I just need something gorgeous...for partying." Allison wasn't the best person to ask about what people should or should not wear at parties, or on dates for that matter, but she was familiar with the various items of clothing she stocked. She decided to concentrate more on the gorgeous part of Faiqa's request. She thought about what was currently out on the sales floor. Nothing that Allison would consider gorgeous popped into her head. She tuned in when Faiqa spoke again:
"Black isn't really for festivity, is it?" Allison shook her head "No, not really, I don't think so. Maybe red? A red dress? That could work for you" Allison waited for Faiqa's reaction. The older girl seemed anxious to get the perfect thing, so Allison didn't want to make a bad suggestion. Allison really thought that Faiqa would look good in a red dress; hopefully she would agree.

A smile was about to form on her face when a thought popped into her mind and it faded away. A look of consternation appeared. "Oh, well I wore a red Versace to meet him this morning," she shrugged "I don't think it'd be a wise choice. But that was a good idea." Too bad she wore that red Versace dress. Hell, the dresses at envy were bee-yu-tee-full!
"How about something else?" she spoke again with a small smile of encouragement. Fai could certainly tell the girl was trying. She had decided to put as much effort as Allison did.

Allison couldn't help the look of shock that crossed her face. Had she heard correctly? Faiqa didn't want red because she wore a red Versace dress already today? First off, as a closet fashionista, Allison was horrified at the thought of any red dress worn earlier than 5 pm. Secondly, as a girl working part-time at the mall, she couldn't believe she had just heard 'Versace' tossed out so casually. Allison had always has suspicions that the senior led a perfect life, and Faiqa unwittingly just confirmed it.
"How about something else?" Allison pulled herself together hastily when she realized that she still had a job to do. Nevertheless, she remained somewhat thrown, and stuttered out another suggestion: "Umm. What about a blue...a royal blue?"

The shocked expression on Allison's face made Faiqa laugh with a shake of her head. At the notion of something in royal blue, she smiled. "Definitely." she replied.
Rare was it that Faiqa Ditonno wore something in that shade of blue and tonight was gonna be one of those rare times. Yes, perhaps something silky and flowing but still at a casual extent. That seemed...perfect! Fai could picture herself at the moment.
"Hmm, but not a dress," she continued as she sauntered off to the rack of deep and royal blues, "A silky top maybe and some sort of skirt or jeans?" She loved asking for people's opinion. Her outfits always needed audience impact as she called it. If they didn't, the clothes would be useless to her.

Allison tagged along behind Faiqa as Faiqa walked off towards the section where the blue tops hung together. She was pleased that Faiqa liked her color suggestion, and she was still thinking of what might constitute a proper outfit for going on a gorgeous party date.
"Hmm, but not a dress. A silky top maybe and some sort of skirt or jeans?" Allison suddenly thought of the perfect top. The only problem was that it wasn't technically for sale yet; the shipment had just gotten in yesterday, and it took a while before clothes made it from the back to the sales floor...She quickly decided to forgo store protocol. She smiled at Faiqa "I think I have just the thing. Wait here a minute?" Without waiting for a response, Allison took off for the back room. She emerged a few moments later holding a royal blue shirt in her hands. She started to talk, trying to validate her choice before Faiqa even had a chance to look at it: "I think this would be great on you. You definately have the right body type for this style. And we just got these particular tops in, so they won't be in stores for two weeks, so you're guaranteed to be the only one with one like it. And you could wear it with jeans, but if you wore a skirt with it, it would be more date-y, I think." She finally ran out of things to say and held the shirt up for Faiqa to see, hoping that the senior would approve. It was a tunic-style top made of a flowy, silky material. The neckline was low, but it was classier than many of the other tops at the store. The cap sleeves were cut so that they would flutter as the wearer moved. It was gathered in the front and embellished in the center, right under the bustline, with a trendy silver pin. It was glamourous, it was fun, it had sex appeal, and best of all, no one else would have one like it for almost another month. Allison waited anxiously for Faiqa's reaction.

Faiqa shot Allison a look of consternation as she walked off. "Wai-" she started to say but was cut off by the girl's disappearance. She thought she had found the perfect thing, a halter top with that flowing feel of silk. A shrug came off. Problem was, she'd seen someone wear it before. She eyed the garment as she waited for Allison to return.
Allison's voice startled her. As she turned around, she saw a gorgeous, royal blue top in Allison's hands. Her mouth hung in awe. It was...how could I put this? PERFECT.
"Oh. My. Gawd." Faiqa replied as she gently took the hanger out of Allison's hands, "I love it but..." A long pause. She was worrieed about her new friend's job security. "Wouldn't you get in trouble if you sold me this shirt?" For once, Fai wasn't thinking about just herself. She was thinking of Allison now too.

Allison beamed when Faiqa's jaw dropped upon seeing the shirt. Getting the approval of a popular senior about a piece of clothing might not seem that important, but it was a huge victory in Allison's eyes.
"Oh. My. Gawd. I love it but..." Allison's glow dimmed a bit. There was a 'but'? What else could Faiqa possibly want? The extended pause made Allison nervous.
"Wouldn't you get in trouble if you sold me this shirt?" Allison widened her eyes with a bit of shock, and began speaking and thinking simultaneously "No, not at all" At least not if anyone found out. She looked over at the register. Chris was working today, so he wouldn't care. And the floor manager was nowhere in sight. "It's no big deal" At least it wouldn't be if they completed the transaction fairly soon. She gave Faiqa a small smile and hoped that she wouldn't take too much time picking out a bottom to go with the top.

Sensing tension and worry within Allison as she spoke, Faiqa made the decision to start looking for a bottom. "Well, we better hurry and finish the outfit then," she chirped. Her mood had lightened so much since she arrived at SCM.
She led the younger teen to the denims department. Odd isn't it how it was the customer leading the salesgirl? Well, not for Fai. She'd practically memorized the place. "So, you think a denim skirt would fit it well?" she asked, pulling out a denim mini that was flirty. It was kilt-style but pleated and was sort of faded.

Allison obediently followed Faiqa into the denim department. She was pretty relieved that they were headed into jeans territory. Denim was easy to fit and also saved her the time that would have been used trying to figure out what knit or khaki or what would go best with the shirt.
"So, you think a denim skirt would fit it well?" Allison nodded as she appraised the skirt that Faiqa pulled from the rack. Faiqa was either lucky or had a good eye for color; the wash was perfect. But Allison wasn't sure about the style. It was a little too cute to look good on Faiqa. She tilted her head pertly and asked "I like denim, but since the top has so much going on, maybe a simpler style?" She pointed to the rack behind the one they were standing near. It held denim minis that had no pleating or wrap to them, but were the same faded blue as the one that Faiqa held. They had different detailing to make them unique: the color of the thread and rivets, distressing, and back pocket design varied from designer to designer.

"Ehmagad, you are so right," Faiqa replied. She grabbed a skirt in a size 2 and held both in her hands. "I'm taking both," she smiled. The first skirt was just too cute to let go. She grabbed a basket from the stack on the floor and dropped the items in. Taking the basket she once again walked off...this time to look for shoes.
"No need to fit," she said on the way "I know my size. So, it's shoe time." A smile appeared once more as she and Allison arrived at the wide shoe selection.
"Now miss fashionista junior, any suggestions?" she asked facing Allison while raising a brow but still smiling.
