Be still, sad heart, and cease repining; Behind the clouds the sun is shining; T hy fate is the common fate of all, Into each life some rain must fall, Some days must be dark and dreary.
Rylan almost hesitated before beginning out of the house, a shiver running up his spine as the cool air reached his bare forearms. It had never been this cold in Virginia, at least not in all the years he'd been walking the streets. Surprisingly, today was quiet, and the road leading into town was almost like it was just meant for he to walk. Everyone was usually out, but as he gazed toward the skyline he noticed the dark rimming clouds heading in his direction. A slightly disappointed look overcame him, and he silently willed the clouds to disappear, leaving him with sunshine and blue skies. It was a rarity to see these dark of clouds in the fall, especially when the previous day was made up of nothing but gorgeous weather. He'd spent the entire day yesterday lounging by the pool, enjoying the sun and the small amount of people that decided to keep him company.
In a matter of moments small drops of water fell elegantly from the sky, causing him to groan with frustration. One drop landed on his shoulder, the next on his cheek, and then more as it began to fall harder, stinging his skin like pinpricks. Instinctively, he began to run, his body moving swiftly through the soon to be forming puddles of rain water. This was definitely not how he'd looked to spending his day, but sadly he was somewhat glad to have the concrete beneath his feet, and only running on his mind. Step by step he could see the city come into view, the tall buildings looming before him. Rylan quickened his pace, his chest rising and falling in an uneven rhythm. By now his clothes had started to soak through, his hair was matted down onto his forehead, and his skin was glistening with the remaining water. His eyes began to search for a possible shelter, only coming upon the familiar doors of Starbucks. Sighing contently, he rushed inside, dripping from the intense weather.
Now in the safety of the local coffee shop, he could feel eyes staring at him, and saw a couple recognizable faces just smile and shake their heads. For a moment he felt inferior, but quickly regained his self-confidence and just shook the excess water from his hair. A hand slid into his pockets, pulling out a leather wallet, glad to see nothing was completely wet. Rylan's gaze shifted to the menu, deciding to order a hot chocolate while he was waiting for the rain to lay off. Hot chocolate wasn't exactly his choice of drink, but he found himself longing for the comfort beverage ever since he'd watched a young child take careful sips of one the day before at the country club. Once it was his turn to order, he stepped up to the counter, smiling gently in the direction of the younger girl. "I'll take a hot chocolate, please," He said, pulling out the necessary amount of money to cover his order. The girl eyed him for a moment, clearly wondering why he was so wet, and dripping on the floors she probably had to clean when they closed for the night. He quietly thanked her as she brought him his drink, and he turned away, seeking an empty table to sit and wait. Finding one almost immediately, he settled in, taking a small sip of the drink nestled in both hands, savoring the warmth the liquid gave off.

Hercules: You like making deals. Take me in Meg's place. Hades: Oh, hmph. The son of my hated rival trapped forever in a river of death. Hercules: Going once. Hades: Hmm? Is there a downside to this? Hercules: Going twice. Hades: Okay, okay, okay, okay, okay. You get her out. She goes, you stay. [Hercules dives in to save Megera] Hades: Oh, you know what slipped my mind? You'll be dead before you can get to her. That's not a problem, is it?
Meaghan's laughter from the movie was suddenly shortened by the sound of rainfalls began to tap her window. She scratched her head as she placed her remote on her bed and walked to closed her open windows. Rainy days always bring a smile to Meaghan's face but... Jesus, some-days are just so different. The tv went blank as Meaghan jetted down the stair of her house and out the door. Usually she would steal one of siblings or mother's car and ride down to Starbucks. Starbucks and rainy days is somewhat of a tradition to Meaghan. Just something about being drenched cold wet and feeling hot coffee drip down your throat gave her the chills, even thinking about it gives her the chills. The light rain falls were gone and now the rain was falling and falling fast and hard. She knew she was going to draw attention to her self, for a scholar, sometimes that's really nice and feels good once in a while to be noticed to as different. The nearest Starbucks to Meaghan's house was one near her work as well and also the most popular one in the city perhaps... but today, it seemed somewhat empty to Meaghan but she well knew that it was full. With no care of her surrounding, Meaghan orders her coffee, not pitch dark of course. "Oh, thank you so much!" Meaghan answered to the cashier. She smiled and took a sip before turning her way around for a place to sit. Yeah, this coffee was definitely better than sitting on her bed watching Hercules while combing her hair to an extreme. Originally she would sit outside but it has never rained so much Virginia ever. The coffee tickled down her throat and Meaghan felt an accomplishment. She has never had a rainy day without any coffee. Meaghan turned around hoping for an empty seat but what she got better. Rylan Avery was what she got... or at least her favorite option at this point. She tucked her curled drenched hair behind her ear before making her way to his table. She tucked her empty hand into her sleeve before speaking to Rylan. "Nice weather huh?" And of course there was a hint of extreme sarcasm in her voice. She was hoping he wasn't waiting for someone so she could seat so she did the proper thing and asked. "Mind If I join you?"

Before the rain began it had been pretty chilly, but now that it was actually here, it had gotten colder. His body shook from the frigid rain, meaning the hot chocolate hadn't yet kicked in. The weather in Virginia was unpredictable, so in a matter of moments the rain could just dissapear. With a silent will, he wished for the sun to return to view, and maybe the clouds to part. He hadn't had anything in particular planned for the day, but he wanted to enjoy being outside, which is what had brought him here in the first place. A sigh escaped his well pursed lips, resting his elbow on the edge of the table, and his chin on his knuckles, he gazed out the window. Thoughts of what to do swarmed his mind, causing him to shift his weight backward into the chair, his more relaxed nature showing through.
After a few moments he took the cup from the table, his fingers wrapping around the styrafoam, every so often tapping along with the rythym of the background music. Rylan's shoulders slumped, hearing the rain pour even harder in a sideways slant, hitting the glass windows harshly. The city streets were even more deserted than they had originally been, but now it was more understandable. He silently began to wonder if it had been his mistake to come out in the first place, had it been on the weather channel? Coming to the conclusion that his silent complaining wasn't going to help, he returned to the counter to get another hot chocolate to pass the time. "I'll have another hot chocolate, please," He said once it was his turn to order, leaning against the counter as he awaited for her to return with his drink. As the girl handed the cup over, he paid for it, and made his way back to the table he'd been occupying.
A loud clap of thunder caused him to jump, and for a second he wasn't sure how far away the storm was. The second clap caused the lights to flicker, but they remained lit. He was extremely tense, which was a rarity for him during storms. Rylan always grew up liking them, and would constantly watch the show the earth put out. His only guess for reasoning, was that he felt trapped, or possibly it was the boredom sending him on edge. Shrugging the feeling off, he allowed himself to settle in again, glancing up in a surprised manner as someone spoke. The voice registered in his mind, but it took a moment for him to realize her question. "Oh, it's gorgeous," He replied sarcastically, rolling his eyes in an annoyed manner. He smiled at her next sentence, nodding lightly before motioning for her to sit. "Escaping the weather, as well?"

Oh It’s gorgeous--- Sarcasm was one of Meaghan’s favorite things in a person’s personality. It assured her that there are people in this world just like her, smart ass! Rylan has that down which is good. Meaghan just tilted her head slightly and smiled at Rylan. At this point you can pretty much guess Rylan’s not a big fan of rain. Then why was here instead of home? Unlike Meaghan, Rylan’s answer to that question is probably going to make sense and actually be sane… I think. Meaghan smiled at Rylan as he motioned her to seat, guessing he obviously wasn’t waiting for someone. She sat down her coffee before sitting down her self. She smiled at him one last time and took a sip feeling it burn her throat once again… in a good way! Escaping the weather, as well? Meaghan laughed slightly and nodded her head. “You can say that I guess, or at least something a long those lines. May I ask you the same thing?” She asked him sensing a bit of her accent coming back, which isn’t normal. Guess spending a long time trying to hide it comes back to you huh? She took another drink of her coffee and smiled at Rylan. "Actually, I enjoy the rain at times. It's a bit of a tradition for me to drink Starbucks on a rainy day!" She shrugged slightly and moved her hair out of her eyes. "So, how you been Rylan?"

Rylan enjoyed being around Meaghan, because she had an upbeat personality, which on a day like this one, was always nice. Her personality was probably what had made him gravitate to her in the first place that day at Tony's. Sure, it could have been out of pity, but in actuality, it wasn't. Rylan had wanted someone to talk to, and Meaghan was equally as bored. Once again, his gaze moved outside, curious as to see if it was to let up any time soon. It wasn't that he didn't like rain, he just didn't like being in one place for too long, meaning being stuck in Starbucks for a couple hours could potentially be a problem. Though, with Meaghan's company, it would be a lot easier to cope with the constant urges to move. He took another sip of his hot chocolate, savoring the strong taste before swallowing. If there was one thing about Starbucks he liked, was their assortment of drinks. Sure, he could make his own coffee and such at home, but somehow Starbucks always managed to win his taste buds over.
“You can say that I guess, or at least something a long those lines. May I ask you the same thing?” He smiled, shaking his head lightly in an almost amused way. "I was walking, and ended up sprinting a quarter mile to get here. Don't get me wrong, I like rain and all, but not when I came outside knowing it was supposed to be a nice day," He laughed, his figure sinking back to his once relaxed position. Rylan nodded in agreement as Meaghan said she too liked the rain, and smiled at her tradition. "Ever since I was a kid I liked to watch the lightning and such," He said, relating to her comment. Every summer night he'd sit on his bed and watch the heat lightning, completely at ease with the natural color of electricity. "So, how've you been, Rylan?" He glanced in her direction as she spoke, his attention immediately on her words. A light shrug became of his shoulders, and he paused to think for a moment. "Good, I guess. You?" He asked, his fingers traveling through his own hair to rid the excess water.

Meaghan nodded her head and rubbed her arm feeling water drop down the side of her face from her hair. Three things Meaghan hated about rainy days: one, people slip and fall on excess water on the floors, two: you basically get wet and you begin to basically freeze the hell to death and third… her personal favorite: you spend about 5 hours combing your hair back to the way it originally was. Well don’t know about Rylan’s opinions but… they could be the same. I was walking, and ended up sprinting a quarter mile to get here. Don’t get me wrong, I like rain and all, but not when I came outside knowing it was supposed to be a nice day--- That’s it, the 4th thing she hated the most about rainy days is when the you spend about 10 minutes listening on TV and looking it up on the computer for weather and it says sunny… then you are sitting here in starbucks drenched and freezing cold. Meaghan just laughed softly and took another sip of her drink. “Well mother nature has a funny way with irony.” Well, that was probably worded wrong. Sitting in a store full of… well a large number of dry people and you two people being of a few soaking wet isn’t a very funny kind of irony. “ Where did you get your sources from anyways?” Referring of course to the sunny day comment made recently by Rylan. Ever since I was a kid I liked to watch the lighting and such--- There is another great reason why Rylan and Meaghan get along so well… they have similar weird likings. Meaghan used to do the same when she was little, but for Meaghan is was a little more extreme. She would just sit on the balcony of her house or on top of the roof for that matter (if she was able to climb up there) and just stare at the rain fall and watch where-ever the lighting struck… that is until her older brother dragged her back into her room. Then she resulted in just staring out of the window. She nodded her head in agreement and took another drink of her coffee. “Yeah, my first laugh ever since my birth was from lighting.” Her parents thought that she wasn’t going to grow up being normal after that day. Good, I guess. You--- Meaghan scratched the top of her head. The itching part of having wet hair has just begun and it irritated her but she was a big girl, she can handle it. Meaghan glanced at Rylan and smiled before taking another small drink and answering him. She sighed heavily and leaned over to the side and laughed oh so softly. “ School… work… family… life. It’s all really the same. Trying to keep up with everything is fun I guess you can say. I like a challenge.” She shrugged slightly. She never really understood why people always ask her that question. Nothing interesting really ever happens to Meaghan, unless you count falling off her roof this past weekend and landing on top of her brother interesting then… no!

Rylan had several reasons in which he hated rain, but most of them were for stupid reasons, because for the most part, he enjoyed the rain. One of his biggest things about rain was when it involved dogs. He'd had one too many episodes of the dogs getting soaking wet, and trashing the house because of it. This led to one of his largest pet peeves; when people didn't take their shoes off when they came into the house, especially if it was raining. He personally disliked cleaning the house, which was why his parents personally sent someone to clean it every week. In the meantime, he didn't appreciate those who would make him clean it when it didn't need to be. He liked rain, however, when it wasn't so cold, more of a warm summer rain. Once, he'd underestimated the warm rain, thinking he wasn't going to get sick from it, and ended up having a cold for a day after that.
"Well, mother nature has a funny way with irony," He nodded in agreement to Meaghan's words, shaking his head slightly in disbelief. "It like never rains here," He mumbled, somewhat to himself. The most they usually got was heat lightning, or thunderstorms with no rain. Their usual weather is what he liked best about the area, you could still do what you were going to, you just had to be cautious about the lightning and such. Never once did he have to cancel his plans, except for the occasional days like this one.
"Where did you get your sources from?" His smile faded, but it was almost unnoticeable. "Several different weather channels, but none of the men in Roanoke are ever correct," He paused, his full smile returning. "You know, except for the sunny days," He said, referring to the usual weather report; 'Sunny, warm, maybe a chance of thunderstorms in the late afternoon.' If they stuck to that, they assumed everything would be as it usually was, but they were proven wrong on such a day like this. "What about you, where did you get your sources from?" He asked, simply assuming she too had made the mistake of wandering outside in the supposedly good weather, and had met the rain on the way here.
Rylan's entire family seemed to favor thunder and lightning, which is where he assumed he'd gotten it from. Though his mother was never a big fan of it, she valued their company, especially when Rylan's father wasn't around. Growing up he never really knew his father, because throughout the years business trips grew longer and longer, so he spent less time at home. Weekends diminished to only Sundays, and gradually he only came home for dinner late Sunday night. It never really bothered him, until the whole lying thing started. You're probably wondering what his family problems has to do with rain, right? Well, each rainy night that Roanoke had, he'd just walk, and sometimes he found comfort somewhere, mostly at a friend's house, but for the most part he found comfort in the rain. There was something about each drop when it hit his skin, it was kind of like therapy, but in a more natural way.
“ School… work… family… life. It’s all really the same. Trying to keep up with everything is fun I guess you can say. I like a challenge.” His focus returned to Meaghan, thoughts pushed to the back of his mind. "Same here, though the whole family thing has to be about the most..." He broke off, attempting to find the right word to fit the equation. "Interesting," He finished, chuckling lightly. Lately he'd found himself in a mess between his sisters. Actually, it had been more than just lately, ever since Samantha found out about Julianna, she was constantly being the more competitive one of the Avery kids. (Which is hard, considering Rylan is pretty competitive himself.) "Honestly, life's been pretty boring lately," He added, sighing. It seemed that everyone was in a rut with excitement and interest.

It like never rains here--- Meaghan was able to here that quiet easily and she just laughed softly and shook her coffee in circular patterns. When it comes to the weather she always has one answer to it all… global warming. Even if it’s too hot or too cold she just blames it on global warming. It’s basically ruining her life and honestly, she doesn’t even know how! “Really? I haven’t noticed. I mean sure, the weather is kind of crooked! Does it like…umm… like… Is it always bright and sunny out though? Well, majority anyways?” Meaghan really did not understand Virginia weather. She has lived here long enough to get used to it… really long enough… but she doesn’t take much notice to it. Several different weather channels, but none of the mean in Roanoke are ever correct… You know, except for the sunny days--- Meaghan laughed softly and took a drink of her coffee and actually took the time to notice she was almost out. Meaghan shook her head slightly. She understands what he means. For years Meaghan realized on the weatherman… or woman on well, the correct weather but it always turns out bloody wrong. It frustrated her oh so much. She just gave up on the weatherman… or woman. Now, she relies on her natural instincts… Which still need some work! “Never trust those bloody people! They have no clue what they are talking about. Took me 12 years to realize that but they really don’t have a clue! It’s kinda sad to just think about it!” What about you, where did you get your sources from? Meaghan smiled slyly and tilted her head once again. “Nowhere! It’s called the art of waiting until whatever happens…happens! That’s the best way I can describe it!” She sat her coffee cup aside after she took the last drink of it and crossed her arms on the table. Same here, though the whole family thing has to be about the most… interesting--- Well Rylan got Meaghan’s attention right there. She likes listening to stories about other people’s life… of course if they are willing to tell. “Oh please, do tell!”

One of the reasons the Avery family had settled in Roanoke in the first place was the weather; warm and sunny. Rylan was particularly fond of any conditions that would allow him to be outside. “Really? I haven’t noticed. I mean sure, the weather is kind of crooked! Does it like…umm… like… Is it always bright and sunny out though? Well, majority anyways?” A light shrug was given at her words, thinking up an answer to her question. "For the most part it's pretty sunny, but it rains occasionally... Not like this though," He replied, knowing that Meaghan hadn't lived in Virginia all her life like he had. It only took a couple of days to fall in love with the weather, or with the whole state for that matter.
Rylan tended to not bother with checking the weather, because there was always an alternate thing the could do. Take today for example, once the rain came he'd seeked shelter, which had led him here with Meaghan. "Why, what was your weather like back home?" He asked, slightly curious as to Meaghan's home. Rylan was just a naturally curious person, and he was interested in getting to know her a bit more than he already knew. Throughout his life he'd learned that you could always learn more, even if you knew the person your entire life.
Rylan smiled at Meaghan, glad to have her upbeat attitude around him. With the rain, he'd usually find himself feeling depressed, but now he found himself feeling much differently. They both had unique outlooks on life, and being the person he was, Rylan was drawn to her different personality, but in a way they were extremely alike.
“Oh please, do tell!” Rylan grinned at her antics, though unsure about even telling her anything. It wasn't that he didn't trust her, or that he didn't feel comfortable, he just hated to dump his problems onto people. Then again, maybe she'd be able to help him some. "Well, my sisters are fighting... Still. You know, I don't really know how to deal with it. How do I hang out with one, when they hate each other?"

Why, what was your weather life back home--- Why that’s a good question Rylan, lets just hope Meaghan can answer that. It’s been such a long time since Meaghan was last in Britain… not really long but if you kind of miss a place really badly you tend to forget small things like the weather. From what she remembers to tell you the truth it’s really not that different from what it’s like in Virginia right now! “To be honest from what I remember… it’s not all that different. It rains a lot though. Even during the summer time it’s always raining. It rarely snows and most of the time it’s really hot outside. So you’ve lived in Virginia all your life?” Learning about someone, especially someone like Rylan is like an adventure to Meaghan. It’s like… like a 6 year old in a gummy bears factory. Rylan is leaning more on the line of mysterious to Meaghan. It’s almost like a challenge that she just has to figure out. She really wants to know more about Rylan. In all of their past conversations, I think this conversation today… they learned more about each other than the others combined… I think! Well, my sisters are fighting… Still. You know, I don’t really know how to deal with it. How do I hang out with one, when they hate each other? Meaghan moved he hair out of her face and folded her arms on the table causing her to lean forward a little bit. She tried to process it all but Rylan lost her at sisters. Meaghan is the type of person that tends to hang out with everyone so tends to know a lot about different people but she didn’t know that Rylan had sister… with an ‘s’ at the end. “Wait! Sisters… I thought that it was just you, Tyler and Samantha?” She said pointing at Rylan. She scratched her head softly before saying anything else. “Have I missed something or have I just not being paying attention to what people say lately?”

Rylan hadn’t been overseas since he was a baby, on one of his father’s family business trips. Actually, his father had been looking to buy a house in England. Of course, Rylan couldn’t remember any of the three week long trip. However, he’d always wanted to return and see what about it that had made his father return to the states. He’d never actually left Virginia in all his seventeen years, which was somewhat sad the more you thought about it. The reason being, he’d never travel alone, for he thought it to be pretty boring. A road trip sounded great at the moment.
Rylan listened to Meaghan as she explained the weather, his thoughts lingering on the point where she had said ‘from what I remember’. Obviously he wasn’t aware of when she moved to the states, which he guessed was a while ago. “So, when did you finally move to the U.S.?” He asked, curious as to when she moved, but equally as curious as to why she moved. Sure, people came for college and the prep schools, but Virginia? He’d lived here his entire life, and honestly, if you weren’t into the nightlife they had, then you were stuck at home on your couch.
“So you’ve lived in Virginia all your life?” He sighed, nodding lightly. “Yeah, born and raised,” He paused to swipe away at a drop of water making its way down his forehead, a small smile appearing on his lips. “I’ve lived in the same house since I was born, it just lacks guardians,” He added, shaking his head lightly. He preferred having no parents to bug him, even though they did return to the house every couple weeks, but never took the time to spend with their children. Sure, it was illegal, but every kid that went to RPA practically lived on their own, so who was going to tell?
“Wait! Sisters… I thought it was just you, Tyler, and Samantha?” His face fell for a moment, surprised she hadn’t figured out that Julianna was his half-sister. They spent a lot of time together, and was pretty sure everyone was aware. “Not really… Julianna’s my half-sister,” he stated, preparing for the mound of questions that were sure to follow. “It’s kind of a long story,” He added, becoming quite familiar with the story, enough to where he could even tell you the dates. “I just figured people knew, so I didn’t bother telling them,” He said, shrugging his broadened shoulders.

Yeah, born and raised--- Meaghan sucked her teeth and smiled at him. She placed both her hands on her chest and pouted slightly. “I am so sorry… I can only imagine.” Yeah, Meaghan has times where she just acts like a drama queen and it was all right with her. It made her feel special once again. From all the time she has lived her, Meaghan really doesn’t enjoy Virginia at all. It’s really boring. At least in Britain there was a cool event coming on once in a god damn while but Virginia it’s kind of a rut so to say! “So, are you planning on moving after this year? You know…senior… last year… after this no more dealing with us lower graded people! You are off to do whatever!” You can say that the way Meaghan said what over dramatic and over exaggerating but hey that’s what she is good at. She just smiled at him at the corner of her mouth slightly shivering a little. Now that she didn’t have any more coffee, the excess water was starting to remind her that she is very wet. Before all of this Rylan had asked her a question that she blew off. Now would be a very good time to answer it. So, when did you finally move to the U.S--- Meaghan dug her hand through her hair and took a tight grip at the roots. Meaghan has not been doing as much counting as when she moved here as much as when she is going to get the hell out. Just one more school year and then probably Berkeley or Duke. Anything outside this state. Virginia didn’t scream for Ice cream to Meaghan. “Uhh.. Freshman… sophomore year! 4 year I guess!” Or maybe was it middle school when she moved here. God, all Meaghan knows was that he was going to form 3! Not really… Julianna’s my half-sister--- It’s kind of a long story--- Julianna and Rylan were related? Wow, they looked nothing alike. Well that would explain the whole they are half related… well I presume. Julianna doesn’t have the same last name as Rylan so… “Well, I’m here to listen! Well at least give the short version!”

Rylan laughed, shaking his head lightly. He loved Virginia, there was no doubt about it, but there was always that one sense of adventure that he wanted to conquer. His body yearned to just get out of there, escape for a while, but never leave for good. He'd tried to leave before, not physically, but mentally, which hadn't worked at all. "Hey, it was torture when I had parents that actually lived with me," He said, his smile falling for half a second. He didn't really miss their parental ways, but in a way he felt completely insecure with all these new responsibilities. He'd been forced to grow up pretty quickly in the past couple months, both physically and mentally.
Moving? Truthfully, Rylan hadn't ever thought of it. "I don't know..." His vocals trailed off, a faraway look entering his eyes as he thought. What had he planned? "It depends on what everyone else is going to do, but I've always secretly wanted to get out of here for a while," He said, his smile unsure of the world, causing his eyes to contain a stone-like look. "I want to travel a little bit, but for the most part I'll stay here, it's been my life forever, I can't just up and leave it. A little more parties might be in store with all that free time, though," He half joked, an idea coming to mind. A party would be a good beginning of the year kick off, but of course the school had things to plan, so he'd have some things to consider.
A light nod was given as she said when she moved here, wondering exactly why her family had chosen Virginia above any other place. It wasn't exactly exciting until you had exciting people to spend your days with. This year, though, Rylan was pretty sure would be a great one.
The whole Avery/Montgomery story was a very long one, one that even he didn't know the entire thing. Rylan hadn't even met Julianna until just over a year ago, so it wasn't really surprising that not a lot of people knew that they were related. The only thing they knew or saw was the two hanging out, but nothing more, they barely even showed any physical resemblance. "Well, my father and her mother..." He broke off, not really wanting to speak of that exact point. He'd always tried to be unlike his father, therefore had quite the time trying to speak of it. "I never knew of Julianna until I met her in the hospital one night, and realized that we were in fact related," He paused, his body seeming to give into the truth, his lips parting once more. "I hate my father for leaving her like that, you know?"

((god your post are like ridiculously loong Kris! lolz))
Meaghan smiled softly after Rylan spoke. She thought she had problems but she knows that Rylan has problems too. But Rylan can handle them better than she can. At least he still had both of his parents. Sure, Meaghan’s got her mom, older brother and twin brother and younger sisters but after her dad died… it’s really not much of a family really. Meaghan is perhaps the only person who cares about all of them and not just one or two of them. “Yeah, at least you’ve got both of them right? You see them once in a while right?” Meaghan smiled and laughed softly. Meaghan laughed slightly in a soft amusement to Rylan’s answer. Meaghan answer to her own question is far away from Rylan’s. No way is she staying here… everyone is different here and everything is different. She got in a car accident like 5 times because she forgot that people in the states drive the opposite way from people in Britain. It’s so weird… unless she has a got reason to stay… she’s gone at the end of senior year. Maybe she will go to Oxford College in Britain! “Wow, I see you’ve got your life figured out! Going to college at all?” Meaghan smiled slightly. It’s always fun trying to hear people explain deception or something like that. There is usually no word to describe it you know and that’s what Rylan was having. So she kind of filled in the blanks a little bit. Meaghan’s smile faded when Rylan asked her the question. She just nodded her head and began twisting her hair at the end. “Yeah… I really wouldn’t know to be honest Rylan. I dad pasted away a few years back so it’s just like… but I can understand. But did he give a reason at all?”

(( Yes! You posted shorter... Now I'll post shorter. lol. ))
Truthfully, Rylan didn't mind not seeing his parents, after all, they were both at each other's throats half the time they spent with each other. It wasn't asking a lot, having maybe a single dinner that was a polite, decent conversation. Rylan, however, was sometimes the one to blame, because he'd bring up basketball. With his father, that was what they usually talked about, but when his mother was around she tended to make snotty comments about her son becoming something he's not. That's about when Rylan would just shut the hell up, but his father definitely knew how to push Rylan's buttons. Each and every Christmas they spent together, there was a brawl... Anyway, to make a long story short, no one got along in the Avery house. "Once in a while when they're both home, and honestly, I'd prefer my mom out of the house... She's constantly on my tail about things, butting into my life, asking why there's female clothing in our washer machine. I swear, sometimes she forgets she ever birthed a daughter," He said, rambling slightly. An exasperated sigh escaped his lips, shaking his head lightly.
"College? Definitely, just not sure what for or where. I think I want to continue writing, and maybe open my own business or something," He replied, nodding as if to persuade himself that that's what he really wanted to do. Writing was definitely on his list, because he already did a fair share of that now, and found himself having more persuasion into writing. His writing usually revolved around the happenings in his life, but just different names for characters and such. If his life happened to be a real book, it would have to be on the best sellers list for major drama.
Rylan's face fell as she began speaking, his lips closed tightly together. He immediately regretted his words, after all, he didn't even try with his father, it was a mutual hatred and nothing had ever seemed to get in the way of that. It was almost like Mr. Avery was threatened of his son, like he'd just swipe his life out from under him. "Oh... I'm sorry..." He began, his vocals breaking off after a couple words. His gaze reverted back to Meaghan, swallowing hard before deciding to answer her question. "Not really, I mean, maybe he felt guilty and just didn't know what to do. He had a family with us, and then now another kid, I guess it could have been a pretty big load to carry," He suggested, his shoulders slumping slightly. However, his feelings weren't changed, not one bit.
(( Dammit, not any better. You can post way shorter than mine, my muse tends to waver a lot. ))
